Mousavi's son said: "based on documents at hand and the testimony of some Lebanese released detainees, Iranian diplomats are alive."

In the Press conference of detainees of Iran and the world of Islam, Seyed Raed Mousavi, by providing reports on the status of Iranian diplomats in Israel, said: "4 Iranian diplomats, Ahmad Motevaselian, Seyed Mohsen Mousavi, Taghi Rastegar Moghadam and Kazem Akhavan who were abducted in Beirut in 1361 and later transferred to occupied Palestine have been captive for 27 years.

"In the recent years some serious investigations have been undertaken and the results were indicative of four diplomats' being captive in Israel prisons", Mousavi added. He stated: "some actions have been taken through nongovernmental channels in united nation convention on human rights and forced disappearance convention; the subject has not been legally ensued though. So, the case of the Iranian detainees is still open and there are some elements of ambiguity in the investigations which have not lead to substantial results. "Investigations carried out by Lebanese government can be effective. Seyed Hassan Nasrollah looks forward to the help of Lebanese government in resolving the case, as, in the first step, this case should be pleaded in the Lebanese courts.

Mousavi denied trips to Lebanon with President of Iran and said: "we might have had some meetings with the president but the news regarding trips to Lebanon is a rumor." we expect the government of Islamic republic of Iran to seriously ensue this case as one deeply connected to the honor and reputation of the country." By noting that the subject is not taken as seriously as expected, he emphasized: "officials of the country have had strong yet sometimes shaky belief in seeking the freedom of Iranian diplomats and in the past twenty years, the investigations carried out in the past two years have been the turning point in this course; we expect that government of Islamic republic of Iran consider the case, with any results, as one of its agendas.

"After operation 'Rezvan', some exchanges were made in this course which finally leads to the freedom of Samir Ghantar and Israeli government was forced to disinter the bodies of Lebanese buried 20 or 30 years ago. Unfortunately, this subject has not been well-established in our country and the need of addressing the freedom of diplomats as a national subject to provoke officials to ensue the subject can be felt.", representative of the families of the diplomats said. He added: "Israeli government seeks its own goals in this case but if Iranian officials ensue the subject through Hezbollah, the case will culminate in the freedom of these dear ones."

The representative, by noting the fact that there is no logical reason for the killing of diplomats, said: "after operation 'Rezvan' Israeli government officially announced that the diplomats were abducted at 2:00 p.m in Beirut, transferred to central prison of Beirut at 4:00 p.m and killed at 8:00 p.m. this news is not logically acceptable. It is unlikely that after interrogating the diplomats at 4:00 p.m, the Israelis concluded the diplomats were of no use and killed them. The burial of the diplomats have been checked and nothing was found. Also, one of the prisoners in company with Abdolkarim Abid, after his freedom, said he had seen one of Iranian detainees in Heifa and he could also recognize my father after seeing his picture. Relying on these pieces of evidence, it is highly likely that Iranian diplomats are alive.
